Page 1 of 2 Stay Strong Foundation has successfully launched a variety of mentoring outreach and speaking events.
- Terrie provided ongoing emotional, physical, and legal support for Twanna Rose, a single mother, and her 16-year-old son who has been facing the challenges of going through the criminal justice system. Efforts included securing an attorney for them and being and advocate for their struggles.
- Bronx Councilwoman Helen Diane Foster invited Terrie to speak to more than 400 youngsters at an annual youth summit. SSF donated 400 copies of Terrie’s book, Stay Strong: Simple Life Lessons for Teens, and provided copies of SSF spokesperson Reggie Hatchett’s poem, “Somebody Please Listen.” Terrie spoke about the challenges facing young people, including depression.
- Spelman Women’s Leadership Summit: Terrie, SSF co-founder Xavier Artis, and staff member Chuck Beaumont spoke to 150 high school students from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy and 20 students from Spelman College. Terrie addressed the students on the topics of leadership skills, handling challenges, and obtaining personal goals.
- Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin Annual Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month: Terrie spoke to 400 people at a teen and parent/guardian dinner about leadership, personal responsibility, and the power of dreams.
- Terrie spoke to 25 girls from Salvation Army in Brownsville, Brooklyn, N.Y., about leadership, personal responsibility, and the power of dreams. Prior to the event, the girls read Stay Strong: Simple Life Lessons for Teens.
- Kihana M. Ross was accepted as an intern after meeting Terrie through SSF benefactor Regina Kulik. Kihana attended several new business and client meetings. In particular, she was part of the whole new redevelopment phase of the nationally known Health and Wellness Company, “Carol’s Daughter.”
- The SSF donated 25 books to KI Afrika Taalimu Shule Scholarship at St. Catherine AME Zion Church in New Rochelle, New York.
- “Unlock the Power Within” Youth Leadership Summit at Columbia University: Terrie spoke to 300 students about being successful in life and business.
- National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship based in New York: Terrie spoke to 75 students.
- Lock Haven University – Lock Haven, PA (Freshman Convocation): Terrie spoke to 600 students.
